Sports Tours to Brilliant Budapest

As we gear up for the rush of tour requests now that pre-season training has started, we thought we'd bring your attention to our favourite touring hotspots. Budapest is one of our most popular destinations for rugby tours, football tours and even cricket tours to Eastern Europe and it's not hard to see why.

Sports Tours Manager Daniel Smith tells all on Sports Tours to Budapest.

Budapest is actually 2 cities divided by the Danube, Buda on the hills to the west of the city and Pest on the other side. If you make it up in time to see daylight then culturally Budapest has everything an historic capital city should offer with dozens of Museums charting Hungary's ancient and sometimes violent history, monuments and the castle and citadel on the hill overlooking the city.

But that's enough culture for now, one of the main reasons to go to Budapest is that it really is the party capital of Europe. Throughout the year on the weekends the clubs are brimming with locals and tourists alike. Start the night in one of the many bars in the city centre like Absinthe Bar on Andrassy Street although don't stay too long, the Absinthe is seriously strong or if you do stay a while, make sure you have your lost and found tags on you!!! Pest is where the nightclubs are and there are dozens to choose from like the trendy Barokko and Livingroom to the ahem... gentleman's clubs that we wouldn't know the names of......honest.

From May to September however the Budapest nightlife becomes a completely different beast. As the weather gets hotter Budapest has several open-air super-clubs which are where the beautiful people go to dance, chill out, meet up, eat and basically hang out from 8pm to 8am. Buddha Bar under the Erzebet Bridge, Cafe Rio and various other open air clubs along the river bank have to been seen to be believed.

During the day we also have a great range of activities including Paintball, Karting, Quads and Shooting ranges to keep the adrenalin junkies entertained. We can also offer city tours, river cruises, guided bar crawls.

No visit to Budapest would be complete without a trip to the spa. The Szechenyi spa is the perfect way to unwind after a hard fixture or recover from the night before. It's only 3 metro stops or a 15 minute walk from the city centre. it's a huge complex built in 1927 and you can spend hours here in the jacuzzi, steam rooms, saunas, ice pools, rapids and thermal baths.

Travel and Accommodation
You can fly to Budapest from many UK airports, taking advantage of the low-cost airlines like Ryanair, Easyjet and Wizz air who all offer cheap flights to Budapest. To find your local airport that offers flights to Budapest Click Here. Once you get to the airport you'll be met by our rep and transferred by coach to your accommodation. Our Budapest sports tour packages offer 3* hotels with comfortable ensuite twin or triple rooms or hostels with multi-bed rooms. Both options are in the city centre with a short walk to the shopping districts and nightlife which certainly comes in handy for the walk of shame the following morning.

Football Tours to Budapest
Football is undoubtedly the most popular sport in Hungary and we have host teams to suit all ages and abilities to ensure your football tour fixture will be well-matched. We've organised plenty of football tours to Budapest over the years and I took my team to Budapest for 3 nights in 2008. The boys still say it's the best trip they've done and most of them are well-travelled football tourists. We stayed at the 3* Hotel Swing and won 2-1 against a local side on one of the best grass pitches I've ever played on. We spent most nights in the open-air clubs of the city but i can't recall any stories.... what goes on tour, stays on tour!

Rugby Tours to Budapest
Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports, suiting the large Hungarian frame well. The Hungarian RFU recieve a donation from us for every Budapest rugby tour that we organise. This money goes straight into grass roots rugby and will ensure that rugby thrives in Hungary.

Cricket Tours to Budapest
Cricket is a new and emerging sport in Hungary played by ex-pats and keen locals alike. The pitches used are usually parks or football pitches with a Flicx wicket laid down. There are over a dozen teams throughout Hungary and the standard is social to good.
