From the 21st - 25th August 2011 Brighton College took their U16 and U18 hockey teams on tour to Loughborough University as part of a pre-season training camp. Loughborough has become one of the destinations of choice for schools looking for a sports training camp and we've previously taken Brighton College rugby team to Loughborough on their pre-season tour. Loughborough graduate and sports tours manager Daniel Smith takes us through the hockey training camp for Brighton College below.
With 33 people on board, the Brighton Minibuses arrived in Loughborough and were greeted by their tour manager who took them straight to Butler Court halls of residence where the girls were housed. A tour of the University followed shortly after and the team then followed the programme set out below comprising 13 hours training on the water based astro used by England Hockey, gym and pool sessions, a tour of the sports technology department and a sports nutrition lecture.
To test the girls further the master of hockey, Jack Cornish asked for two tough fixtures which we were happy to arrange and we used local clubs Leicester and Lichfield to host them at their fantastic facilities.

The itinerary they followed is below and can be replicated for any UK hockey tour groups. For Master of Hockey at Brighton College, Jack Cornish, it was his first experience of using Tours 4 Sport to organise his hockey tour and he had this to say:
"Loughborough 2010 was an excellent tour that catered for all our needs. The facilities were first class matched with great food and a well thought out few days. Tours 4 were on hand throughout the visit for tweaks to the itinerary and are certainly the hockey tour company of choice"
